Innovative Shipyard a Leader in Specialised Maritime Construction

Crist has been providing top-quality shipbuilding and ship repairs since 1990 and is steadily expanding its activities. Crist specialises in building and repairing ships and steel structures, including vessels and structures used in Poland’s rapidly developing coastal and offshore mining and energy projects. Crist’s client list includes companies from all over the world.

Defining Crist’s competitive edge,Kryzsztof Kulczycki, Chairman of the Board and co-founder with ireneusz Cwirko, explains, “Crist offers know-how, long-term experience, skilled and dedicated employees, modern production equipment, and new manufacturing technologies. Generally, we operate as a subcontractor for the offshore industry, and we continue to produce fishing vessels and other structures.” Crist serves international ship-owners and shipping lines as well as leading harbour-engineering and other companies active in the maritime sector.

One of three european shipyards to produce new vessel

Crist recently became one of only three shipyards in europe to produce the ho innovation jack-up vessel, which Crist built in 24 months. Kryzsztof Kulczycki explains, “We have proved that you can build this type of vessel not just in the Far east, but also in europe, and most importantly in poland.” Crist is now building a second, slightly smaller version of the vessel.

Crist is currently partnering with aker solutions, a leading global oil-services company, to build offshore vessels and subsea structures for oil and gas installations. Crist’s diverse production portfolio also includes transport pontoons, specialist vessels for assembling wind farms at sea, steel structures of port berths, hydro-technical structures, steel structures built on land, and elements of wind-tower installations.

Strongly committed to supporting poland’s on-going development, Crist makes a point of hiring and training polish workers and aims to promote poland as a positive business environment. Kryzsztof Kulczycki says, “poland needs to be showcased as a leader in shipbuilding to return to what it used to be.”

Crist is currently looking for investors to help the company develop new projects and become a joint-stock enterprise. Kryzsztof Kulczycki points out, “We do not want to become a huge company but rather a leader in our specialised fi eld. in the future, we are going to be producing more of the largest ships in europe. In ten years I have no doubt that Crist will be one of the premier european shipyards. to reach this goal, we are looking for foreign investors and are very open to future cooperation.”
