Leading Construction-Chemicals Group Symbol of Polish Expertise
Atlas Lodz is a symbol of Polish entrepreneurship, expertise and determination. Founded 21 years ago by four Polish civil engineers, Atlas grew from zero to become one of Poland’s leading business groups. Atlas has 18 thriving business units, including four operating abroad (in Romania, Belarus, Russia and Latvia); 16 plants with modern production lines; and five mines. Atlas Lodz is ranked Europe’s third largest manufacturer of chemicals for the construction industry and, in its home market, achieves the world’s biggest total volume of sales of construction chemicals in one country.

Atlas began by producing mortar adhesives and now has hundreds of products in its portfolio, including technological systems comprising many complementary products. the company’s main product groups are materials for laying ceramic and stone tiles; priming, cleaning and protection materials; ready-to-use mortars; insulating materials and sealants; enhanced renders and facade paints; thermalinsulation systems; flooring and selflevelling screeds; and a wide range of gypsum products.
Strong competitive edge
Atlas’s success in poland is indisputable proof of its competitive edge. Henryk Siodmok explains, “the polish market is the most competitive market in europe in any segment. any Western european company looking to expand in Central europe comes to Poland, so all the major players are here and they usually have much deeper pockets than polish companies. Secondly, we have a strong tradition of entrepreneurship in Poland, so there is a huge competition from polish entrepreneurs as well. For this reason the companies present today on the polish market are very competitive.”
Atlas’s brand value is estimated at an impressive €60 million and is based on the high technical quality of the company’s products as well as strong customer approval of the atlas image. Atlas’s stellar reputation is the result of a constant focus on developing new products that meet the highest market demands. In a first in the industry, atlas develops its products in co-operation with construction-industry professionals.
