Flight Connect is a recognised provider of top of the line experience for travellers, providing luxury at great value. Established in 2013 in Gaborone, Botswana, Flight Connect operates a vibrant, customer-centric travel and leisure business for the discerning customer, providing luxury transport, transfers and tours. Kate Maphage, Managing Director, emphasises that their passion is excellence and their key value is reliability.
European Times: Which are the most attractive services offered to your customers?
Kate Maphage: Among others, we currently offer flight tickets, tours and coach hire services in addition to our luxury coach, which operates daily between Gaborone, Botswana and OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa. We service individual and corporate clients, with a strong focus on making our experience special for these valuable customers. We understand the needs of an executive travelling with us. We were the first transport service to offer Wi-Fi on board to help our business traveller continue to work in preparation for work at their destination or finishing off their work before they start their holiday. This service also helps the leisure traveller to keep in touch with their loved ones without the hassle and cost of roaming or international calls and provides additional entertainment for those who do not feel like watching the on-board movies. We make our customers’ lives easier by offering online reservation and payment services.
European Times: Which challenges do you come across and what are your business plans for the forthcoming period?
Kate Maphage: Our core challenge is keeping ahead of the service excellence curve so we can retain our customers, as new competitors enter the market and emulate us. Our company’s registered name is Difference Marker, and our challenge is to live up to that high standard of constantly creating that which the market will perceive as “Different”. The industry is highly regulated and competitive, and this makes for high compliance costs and curtailed agility as a business.
European Times: Being a trusted tour operator, what is your personal message and travel advice to our readers?
Kate Maphage: We welcome customers’ ideas of their dream trips so we can help turn them into reality. We also offer our special tours and group tours. Comfortable travelling on our luxury vehicles makes for enjoyable and unforgettable customer experience, covering arrangements for airport transfers, hotel accommodation, sightseeing excursions and activities. We want our clients to be uncompromising in giving feedback so we can keep our service levels where they should be, ahead of the pack. As active members of Botswana Tourism Organization (BTO) and Hospitality and Tourism Organisation (HATAB), we are experienced and enthusiastic to present the beautiful treasures of Botswana to the world.
