As the global financial crises ensues in some of the biggest economies of Western Europe still there is hope for investors and businessmen who are looking for more secure returns on investmentS. They should come to Latvia. It is clear Latvia already has attracted multinational long- term investors like CEMEX, Neste Latvija, DnB Nord Bank and many others. However, it is apparent that a significant amount of investment and financial funding from EU structural and cohesion funds will be greatly needed in order to further realize all the development projects for the future growth of the Latvian economy. On September 3, 2008 in Budapest the first issue of the European Times on Hungary was formally launched. On September 11, 2008 Hungary’s elite gathered at the 5 star chic, up- scale Boscolo New York Palace Hotel for a launch ceremony and reception.

The European Times Representative Ms. Khayla Banks announced the official launch of the issue. She said: “Our initiatives to promote Hungarian business potential to our targeted readership has been greatly supported by the key political and industry leaders in Hungary to put a spotlight the recent success of the economy and future potential” Her sentiments were echoed by the Publisher of the European Times Mr. Mathieu Cuypers: “Hungary is a stellar example of what has gone right in Eastern Europe’s transition to free market economy.”

On July 1st 2008, the representatives of the European Times in Serbia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Serbia’s Investment and Export Promotion Agency. Director of SIEPA Mr Bojan Jankovic is pleased to be working with The European Times in promoting Serbia among the readers of The European Times.
